Students, staff and visitors to the Manchester Metropolitan University Cheshire campus will have the opportunity to hear Co-operative Funeralcare North West Band play for free on the eve of their championship title bid in Blackpool next month.

Open rehearsal

As part of their final preparations, they will hold an open rehearsal on Saturday 9th March at 7.30pm in the Studentzone at MMU’s Crewe Campus, Crewe Green Road, Crewe.

Parking and admission is free and booking is not necessary. The band will also perform a short concert set for audience members, and the Studentzone bar will be open.

Interesting

Alan Smart, Band Manager, told 4BR: "Our open rehearsal should be very interesting and entertaining for everyone who wants to come along.

Our MD, Jef Sparkes will give an introduction to the test piece, ‘Harmony Music’, and we hope people who would not normally think a brass band is for them might come along and enjoy a very different Saturday evening’s entertainment."
