Euphonium star Glyn Williams has been working very closely with Lions Youth Band, supplying them with new instruments following a successful grant application.

Glyn also arranged recently for his friends from Foden’s to spend a day working with the talented members of the band in sectionals and full band rehearsals in preparation for a CD recording which is due to take place this coming weekend.
Richard Poole, Helen Williams, Lesley Poole, John Barber, Stewart Baglin, Eve Knowles and Glyn put the players through their paces on Andy Scott’s ‘Roar’, which has been specially written for the band and Peter Graham’s ‘Victory’.
The young players also worked on accompaniments to solos that will be recorded with Glyn and John Barber as their special guests.

It had been a very busy weekend for all those involved, with Lions Youth Band performing a well received concert in Alderley Edge on Saturday evening whilst the Foden’s players had been performing at the RNCM Festival of Brass.
