Following their Butlins Mineworkers First Section victory at Skegness recently, Drighlington has added more strength to their playing ranks as they prepare for the Yorkshire Regional Championships in Bradford on the first weekend of March.

New players

Rhianwen Head, a first year music student at Huddersfield University has joined the cornet section. Rhianwen hails from Cwmbran and previously played for the Rogerstone Band.

Meanwhile, Joe Steede, a second year music student at Huddersfield University has joined the bass section after playing with the Hade Edge Band.

Debuts

Both players made their contest debuts in the Skegness success, whilst there will be a Bradford debut for percussionist Jo Swift from Leeds who previously played for South Milford and Knottingley Bands.
