Buxton ready for 50th running

The popular Buxton Brass Band Festival celebrates its 50th birthday this year — and you can be part of its contest celebrations.

The 50th Buxton Brass Band Festival will take place at the Pavilion Gardens, Buxton on Sunday, 28th April this year.

The popular own choice contest will be adjudicated by Derek Broadbent for the Championship/First Section and Second Section, with Foden's cornet virtuoso Mark Wilkinson casting his ear over the contenders in the Third and Fourth Sections.

There is a nice prize fund up for grabs too, with £450 each section winner and £250 and £150 to the podium finishers.

Closing date

The closing date for entries is Monday 8th April and the contest will run under British Brass Band Registry Rules.
