The Jayess Newbiggin Band is looking forward to their Butlins Mineworkers appearance in Skegness this year.
Consolidated
Reformed three years ago, the band has consolidated its position in the banding community of the North of England. Based in the small coastal village of Newbiggin by the Sea, they are now putting the final touches to their Skegness preparation as they look forward to the trip down from Northumberland.
Develop
Under the direction of Andrew Griffiths, the band has continued to develop over the last year or so and is hoping climb further up the results table at the Skegness event, helped by the recent signings of Roy and Stephannie McClusky on flugal and horn respectively, and Rachel Miller and Neal Wood on percussion.
Good year
Band Manager Tony Griffiths told 4BR: "2013 promises to be good for the band with the inauguration of our youth policy working in partnership with other agencies to promote and provide brass instrumentalist for the future."
