Final ring for Bellshill Bandmaster

Bandmaster Ian Dickie has announced his retirement from the baton work at Bellshill SA.

4BR has been informed that Bandmaster Ian Dickie will be laying down the baton after 34 years continuous years of conducting at Bellshill SA.

In that time he has been an inspirational Young People's Band Leader, Deputy Bandmaster and for the past 20 years, the Corps Bandmaster.

He has also led the band on numerous projects, performing in many venues up and down the country, and also touring Europe.

A retirement festival will be held on Saturday 19th January at the Bellshill SA hall at 7.30pm, where all friends and supporters are welcome to attend what will be a wonderful celebrationspokesperson

A spokesperson told 4BR: "A retirement festival will be held on Saturday 19th January at the Bellshill SA hall at 7.30pm, where all friends and supporters are welcome to attend what will be a wonderful celebration.

The music will be the Bandmasters choice and will be using some music from the bands four recordings."
