Three wise men head to Penicuik

Three wise musical men have stopped off at Penicuik Silver.

Penicuik

Penicuik Silver Band has made a trio of early Christmas signings, all of whom made their debuts at the recent Borders Entertainment Contest.

Cornet and percussion

Solo cornet player John Hindfront and percussionists Murray Christie and Jonnie Grant enjoyed their first appearance under the direction of MD, Stuart Black.

He told 4BR: "I'm delighted that these guys have all agreed to come on board. John and I have worked together with the band in Galashiels. He is a strong cornet player who will give great experience to the front row.

Murray is one of the band's youngsters. He is still involved with our youth band but has made so much progress lately that we had to get him involved with the adult band."

Delighted

He added: "With Jonnie, I'm delighted he's agreed to come back and be involved again and offer Murray and the band the experience he has picked up during his time at University."
