Ashworth to present registry discussion paper

Well known conductor David Ashworth hopes to be able to present a registry discussion paper at this weekend's BBE National Forum.

There is growing interest in the forthcoming Brass Bands England National Forum to be held at the Ramada Encore Hotel immediately off junction 37 of the M1 motorway (S75 3TX) on Sunday December 9th starting at 10.30am.

With the press now invited to attend and ask questions of those taking part, 4BR understands that well known conductor David Ashworth will present a discussion paper outlining initial thoughts and possible future proposals in respect to the ongoing registration dispute between Brass Bands England and Brass Band Players Ltd, run by National Championship organisers, Kapitol Promotions Ltd.

Speaking to 4BR, Dave said: "I hope to be able to put forward my proposals to initiate a formal discussion on the registry issues. It is such an important matter that needs clear thinking and possible compromise and action from both sides."

The event is open to all bands, associations and organisations will also include on its agenda status updates on the British Brass Band Registry, the six Regional Championships and English National Championship.
