In the latest response by Brass Bands England to the setting up of the Brass Band Players Ltd Registry by Kapitol Promotions, the organisation has invited all those with what they call, ‘a vested interest in the future of the British Brass Band Registry’ to a public forum meeting later this month.
Meeting
4BR understands that an e-mail or letter has been sent to all bands as well as Associations and Regional Committees who have used the British Brass Band Registry inviting them to attend the meeting at the Brass Bands England National Office in Barnsley on Sunday 9th December starting at 10.30am.
Positive mandate
In a press release on their website they state that, ‘We need to establish a positive mandate from bands throughout the country that these proposals by Kapitol are not acceptable and that Regional Committees should reconsider their position on this matter.’
The press release signed by BBE Chairman Robert Morgan also states: "We respectfully ask you to consult with your members and to support us in our endeavour to keep the British Brass Band Registry in the hands of your National body.
The Registry is part of our heritage and we think it is worth fighting for. This is our family silver and we should not give it away easily."
