The man behind ‘Brass the Baton’ and ‘MAD 4 Brass Bands Day’ is to become the new Chief Executive Officer of the British & International Federation of Festivals in the New Year.
Diverse
Brass Bands England stated: "Terry’s work has encompassed a diverse range of projects from the London 2012 Inspire Mark project and Brass the Baton, which included some 15 Olympic Torch events, to being a driving force in devising the new BFBB strategic business plan.
That centred on increased participation amongst children and young people which proved instrumental in securing a 141% uplift in funding and Arts Council National Portfolio status for 2012 – 2015."
Difference
They added: "He also gained a funding award from Grants for the Arts to help the University of Lancaster Music Society create the new Unibrass, University Brass Band Championship, to creating an innovative new programme designed to Make a Difference for Brass Bands working with local communities.
Terry established an annual nationwide celebration of Brass Band music making across the UK under the banner ‘MAD 4 Brass Bands Day’ and worked with individual bands helping them achieve grants for their own projects.
All at Brass Bands England wish him the very best of luck and thank him for his dedication and commitment."
