Hard on the heels of its recent success at the SWBBA Torquay contest, Bodmin Town Band has announced the signing of three new players to its ranks.
Horn talent
Filling the solo horn seat recently vacated by Tamsin Carter, the band has welcomed Julie Dobson from Launceston Town.
A spokesperson told 4BR: "Julie brings a wealth of experience, having played in bands to a high standard in the both the North East and South West. Also joining on second baritone is Julie’s daughter, Alina Nuta, a talented teenager and member of the Cornwall Youth Brass Band."
Return
Completing the trio is Julie’s husband Dave Dobson, who joins on BBb bass. Dave returns to Bodmin to fill a seat he last occupied over 15 years ago.
As previously reported on 4BR, Dave recently stood down as MD of Launceston Town Band after 6 successful years which culminated in leading them at the National Finals at Cheltenham this September.
The band has rebuilt itself over the past 2 years and the signing of three committed musicians is a sign of the confidence that we continue to head in the right directionMD, Garry Lannie
