Guild Hall open for contest entries

Entries are now invited for the 2013 Brass at the Guild Hall event.

Guild Hall

4BR has been informed that entries are now invited for the 2013 Brass at the Guild Hall Contest in Preston.

Choice

The event which takes place on February 3rd will see bands able to perform a choice of set works, with competitors able to select either their respective Area or Butlins Mineworkers Championship test piece.

Run out

A spokesperson told 4BR: "Over the last few years individual bands have been organising events prior to the regional contests to give a run out on their test pieces, whilst a number have also worked hard in preparing for the Butlins event.

With the choice of the two we hope to enable bands to concentrate their preparation further, offering them a chance for an early season competitive run out that will be of lasting benefit."

Sections

The contest will be in five nationally graded sections — Championship, First, Second, Third and Fourth, with a prize fund of £4000.

With the choice of the two we hope to enable bands to concentrate their preparation further, offering them a chance for an early season competitive run out that will be of lasting benefitOrganisers
