There is sure to be a brilliant day of music making at the Foden’s Solo, Duet & Quartet Contest this Saturday.
Over 180 players from all over the UK and even Belgium have entered the different sections, with Foden’s having to bring in an extra adjudicator to meet the demand!
It all starts at 9.30am at Sandbach Boys School, Crewe Road in Sandbach with the first performers taking to the stage, whilst the music will continue right through to a brilliant concert featuring the new Foden’s Youth Band and tuba star Les Neish to round off the day around 7.30pm.
Everyone is welcome to have their picture taken next to the famous Gold Shield and huge National Cup – although we can’t quite afford to fill it up with Champagne again for them to have a celebratory sip!Andy Rolfe
Picture treat
Foden’s Andy Rolfe also revealed that there will be a special treat for every young performer too – with the opportunity to have your picture taken with the British Open Shield and National Trophy.
"Following our historic ‘Double’ we thought it would be great if as many players as possible could have the chance of experiencing just what it’s like to get their hands on the two most famous banding trophies in the world," he told 4BR.
