A new orchestra with the specific goal of presenting emerging young classical musicians with the opportunity to perform in concert, movements from a concerto with an orchestra, is launching in Gloucestershire in January 2013.

Beethoven and Sibelius

The FWVM Musical Futures Orchestra will meet once a month from January to June to prepare a concert programme consisting of Beethoven's ‘Symphony No. 5’ and Sibelius's ‘Karelia Suite’ as well as the chosen concerto movements for the young soloists. The concert will take place on Saturday 1st June 2013.

The Orchestra is open to all orchestral musicians (playing at about grade 8 standard), irrespective of age, musical background and place of residence — the only qualification needed to play with the Musical Futures Orchestra is a willingness to help young musicians on their musical journey in a way in which they may not be able to access elsewhere.
