90th birthday celebrations at Marshfield

The 90th birthday of a stalwart player is a good enough reason for a celebration for the Marshfield Band.

The Marshfield Band is to celebrate the 90th birthday of one of its longest ever serving playing members with a special re-union concert.

1948

Derrick Rudell joined the band in 1948 and is still playing in the ranks – even taking time out to perform with the band when they visited a former colleague Bob Deacon who recently celebrated his 100th birthday!

Get together

As a mark of respect and celebration, Marshfield is hoping to get together as many former players to join the present band in a celebration concert and believe there are plenty of players around the Bath and Bristol area in particular that once upon a time donned the Marshfield uniform.

Currently playing in the Fourth Section in the West of England, the event will take place at Marshfield Community Centre on 17th November.
