Following a successful first rehearsal, the members of the new Fodens Youth Band are now gearing up for their forthcoming debut performances.

62 young players

At the end of September, 62 young musicians came together from every corner of Cheshire, the North West, North Wales and South Yorkshire to rehearse for the very first time as part of the innovative new band.

Looking forward

Now they are looking forward to their first performance on November 3rd alongside tuba superstar Les Neish at the forthcoming Foden’s Solo Competition in Sandbach.

Just a week later they will be joined by international trumpet start Jens Lindemann for a performance at Manchester Cathedral, where they will join forces with the British Open champions to perform the world première of Dr Peter Meechan’s new arrangement of Faure’s ‘Requiem’.

It’s been fantastic to finally see as well as hear the result of our new project, with barely any time to wait until they will be making their concert debuts with world class soloists at their side!Ian Raisbeck

Fantastic

Speaking about the launch Ian Raisbeck told 4BR: "It’s been fantastic to finally see as well as hear the result of our new project, with barely any time to wait until they will be making their concert debuts with world class soloists at their side!"
