Explosion of entries at Leicester

The forthcoming LBBA Contest will be packed with over 70 bands.

Leicester Association

The Leicestershire Brass Band Association has informed 4BR that they will host a record 72 bands in six sections at their forthcoming LBBA Open Contest.

Judges David Read MBE, John Roberts, Brett Baker and David Thornton will have the difficult, but enjoyable task of putting the large entry of bands in order.

Date and time

The competition will be held at the adjacent Burleigh Community College and Charnwood College (formerly Garendon High School) on Sunday 25th November.

The competition kicks off at 9.00am in the Charnwood Theatre with the Unregistered Section, and 10.00am in Charnwood Hall for the First Section.

Pre-draw

Tickets for supporters are available on the door and in response to participating band requests, a pre-draw has taken place for all sections and entrants will be notified by the association secretary.

Association Chairman Steve Plant told 4BR: "We are delighted by the response and we look forward to welcoming all bands and supporters to Loughborough."

Details of rehearsal facilities for bands, directions and other contest information is available on the LBBA website at www.lbba.org.uk
