Cornerstone Brass has announced that they have appointed Jim Ely as their new solo euphonium player.

Vastly experienced

A band spokesperson told 4BR: "Jim, who takes over from Stephen Mortimer who has stepped down due to work and family commitments, is a vastly experienced player and for a period of time was a member of Rothwell Temperance Band."

Tuba and horn

The band has also added new players to the ranks ahead of their next contest appearance at the Butlins Mineworkers Championships in Skegness in January.

Paul Chiverton will make his contest debut with the band on BBb tuba whilst Peter Priday joins on solo horn.
