Wright man for Oldham

Ben Wright becomes Oldham Band (Lees) new solo euphonium.

Oldham Band Lees

The Oldham Band (Lees) has announced the signing of Ben Wright as their new solo euphonium.

Degree

Ben joins after completing his degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music in Cardiff and after enjoying a four year stint at BTM Band where he also held the solo euphonium seat.

Wealth of experience

Oldham's MD, John Collins told 4BR: "Ben brings a wealth of experience for such a young player having contested at the Grand Shield, Welsh Area and British Open. I can't wait to get him on the contest stage starting at the Fleetwood Open."

Ben's latest success came in the 2012 ITEC competition in Linz, performing with euphonium quartet 'Euphony', mentored by David Childs, where they claimed a prestigious performance prize having fended off competition from 11 other ensembles from around the globe.

Looking forward
