Kirsty's giant leap for Main kind

Carlton Main's principal cornet will taking one giant leap for Main kind next month.

Kirsty Abbotts

Kirsty Abbotts, the highly respected principal cornet of the Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band has decided to undertake a very special solo performance in aid of her band.

Skydive

To celebrate 10 years in the end chair, she has decided to undertake a charity skydive, raising funds for the band on the way down so to speak!

Carlton Main continues to prosper at the very top of Championship banding without the aid of sponsorship, so Kirsty decided to give the band a financial boost in by doing something very much out of the ordinary.

Now or never

Kirsty told 4BR: "It’s something I thought about doing a few years ago, but this time I just thought if I don’t book it now, I’ll never do it!"
