Russell Gray will head back north of the border next week to inspire young players from the East of Scotland's with a weekend of music making and fun filled workshops

Guest

Russell has been asked to appear as guest soloist with the Penicuik Silver Band in their concert on Saturday 29th September by MD Stuart Black, who is a former pupil of Russell's from Salford University.

Workshop

Whilst there though, Russell will spend the Sunday leading young players in a masterclass and workshop in Penicuik North kirk. All young brass stars from the area are invited to take part in what promises to be a great day.

I'm looking forward to Russell working with the band and the young players. I learned so much him in my time at Salford and from his recent conductor’s course. Russell's tuition will be invaluableStuart Black

Invaluable

Stuart told 4BR: "I'm looking forward to Russell working with the band and the young players. I learned so much him in my time at Salford and from his recent conductor’s course. Russell's tuition will be invaluable."

Stuart added: "The event is being funded though help by Yamaha, Midlothian Council and the East of Scotland Brass Band Association, so all people have to do is turn up and enjoy a great day."
