Regent launch in style

Regent Community Brass made its impressive debut appearance as part of the recent Bandstand Marathon event in London.

Regent Brass

The 9th September saw the first public performance by Regent Community Brass, which was launched earlier this year.

Marathon

The band took part in the Bandstand Marathon event, performing in Battersea Park alongside the Lambeth Wind Orchestra, Lewisham Concert Band and Fulham Brass Band.

The debutants performed a variety of different pieces including, ‘The Shadow of your Smile’, featuring flugel soloist Lisa Neale and ‘Buglers Holiday’ with the cornet trio of Francis Riebrand, Cath French and Mike Hurford.

The band finished off their programme with ‘Toccata in D Minor’ to round off the afternoon’s music.

Senior appearance

Earlier, the senior Regent Brass performed at the Bandstand Marathon event in Gladstone Park in Brent.

During the concert, the band performed a number of pieces which they will be recording for their forthcoming CD in October, including solos from principal cornet Barbara King, euphonium John Gafney, flugel Vickie Curran and trombone Tetsuro Okamura.
