A beautiful blue sky heralded the recent annual St Austell Band Golf Day, held at the Porthpean Golf Club.
Scramble
Well over 100 golfers enjoyed the stunning views from the course whilst competing in the Texas Scramble competition where the par 69 layout was in perfect condition thanks to the hard work of the greens staff.
Teams from as far as Scotland, London and the Midlands battled it out for golfing glory, which was eventually claimed by the Galliford foursome.
Longest drive
The longest drive was won by Stuart Adams of Minear Engineering, whilst the nearest the pin honours went to the Edmundson Electrical and Porthpean Seniors teams.
The wooden spoon prize for last place was won for a second time by The Band Camp Girls.
Guests and sponsors finished the day by enjoying a superb hog roast and sampling some local ales whilst relaxing on the sun bathed terrace with panoramic views of St Austell Bay4BR
Funds
Band Vice-President Paul Farmer, presented the prizes and thanked the sponsors and guests for raising a fantastic £2,200 which will help the band continue their hard work in the community.
