Marshall replaces Childs in Midlands

Black Dyke's principal cornet player Richard Marshall replaces Dr Robert Childs in the top section box in the Midlands next year.

4BR has been informed that due to family commitments Dr Robert Bob Childs has had to stand down from adjudicating duties at the 2013 Midland Regional Contest.

Championship Section

The principal guest conductor at Black Dyke was to have judged the Championship Section with Lt Col Graham Jones.

A Black Dyke replacement has however been found to take his place.

We are delighted that Richard Marshall has agreed to take his place and look forward to welcoming him to the Midlands for the first timeLesley Bentley

Midlands Regional Secretary, Lesley Bentley, told 4BR: "We are delighted that Richard Marshall has agreed to take his place and look forward to welcoming him to the Midlands for the first time."

The line up of adjudicators for the 2013 Midlands Regional Contest, which will take place on the weekend of the 9th/10th March at the Civic Hall and Nicholas Chamberlaine Technology College in Bedworth is now as follows:

July 28 • Tintwistle Band are looking for a 2nd horn player to complete our horn section. We rehearse Monday and Thursday 8-10pm at our own bandroom on Old Road in Tintwistle, and perform a variety of concerts all year round.
