There is a full day of brass band entertainment to enjoy in South Wales on Saturday, as a host of highly competitive bands take part in the second CISWO Miners Entertainment Contest at the art deco Porthcawl Pavilion.
Great music
After last year’s encouraging debut there is sure to be plenty of great music (and eclectic fun and games)on show with the 20 minute programmes from bands from coal mining communities in Wales.
The competing bands are: Abertillery, Ammanford, Blaenavon Town, Briton Ferry, City of Cardiff Melingriffith 2, Ebbw Valley, Gwaun Cae Gurwen, Mid Rhondda, Oakdale, RAF St Athan Vol, TATA Steel (Port Talbot) and Ynyshir.

Noon start
The contest starts at noon, with the first of the 2 draws at 11.00am, the second at 2.00pm.
The adjudicator is Mr David Read MBE
