4BR has been informed that preparation work is already underway for the popular UK wide student UniBrass contest, which will take place at Lancaster University Great Hall on Saturday 16th February next year.
Phenomenon
Founded in 2011 as the first university brass band competition in the country, the event has become something of a phenomenon in just two years – and 2013 will see further exciting developments.
Focus
Publicity Officer Elizabeth Black told 4BR: "As opposed to last year where we had a focus on composition, the 2013 focus will be on conducting.
We will release more exciting information over the coming months and we look forward to being able to offer a brilliant event with the opportunity for brass band traders to support us through all day trade stall spaces, advertising space in programmes and the opportunity to sponsor trophies."

Changes
Meanwhile, there have been a few personnel changes in the organising committee for 2013, with Richard Weatherill taking over the role of Social Secretary, Elizabeth Black as Publicity Officer and Clare Owen in a new role as Volunteer Coordinator.
Elizabeth added: "Unfortunately we say goodbye to Jenni Hughes and Charlotte Critchley and thank them for their support in the previous 2 years and wish them the very best in the future."
