Dunster takes Gosport reins

Steve Dunster has been appointed the new MD at Gosport Solent Brass.

Steve Dunster

Gosport Solent Brass has announced the appointment of their new Musical Director, Steve Dunster.

Award winning

The award winning euphonium soloist has performed in numerous concerts and contests around the UK, and brings a vast array of skills and experience to the band, having learnt his trade under the likes of Walter Hargreaves and Stanley Boddington.

He later went on to become a highly successful conductor with the likes of Woodfalls Concert Brass.

Happy

Steve told 4BR: "When I was a schoolboy learning to play euphonium, the first band I played for outside school was Gosport Silver Band and my first concert was in the Thorngate Hall. Later I spent many happy and successful years with Solent Concert Band as a player and a mentor."

There's a brilliant energy in the band and I'm looking forward to seeing what we can achieve togetherMD, Steve Dunster

Exciting

He added: "It's great to be the Musical Director of the amalgamation of these two great local bands which were such a big part of my musical history.

It's really exciting to join them at the beginning of their contesting journey. There's a brilliant energy in the band and I'm looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together."
