With the final date for registration transfers for the British Open looming on Friday 3rd August, it has been revealed that the proposed return to work by staff at the British Brass Band Registry has been temporarily delayed due to problems with access to the Registry offices.
Locks changed
Following the announcement published on 4BR on 29th July that staff had suspended their proposed industrial action, 4BR understands that due to the locks being changed, staff have been unable to access the Registry itself.
At present it is understood that registration enquiries are being date stamped by the BFBB to ensure bands are not penalised during this period of Registry inactivity4BR
Contact
Efforts have been made by both parties to resolve the matter. In the meantime however, 4BR understands that the BFBB will make the access available if further contact is made.
The Registry staff wrote to the BFBB on Friday the 27th July requesting keys, but has received no reply, and confirm that they have again today written by e-mail to the BFBB and await a response.
Date stamped
At present it is understood that registration enquiries are being date stamped by the BFBB to ensure bands are not penalised during this period of Registry inactivity.
4BR understands that Registry staff are still requesting copies of the BFBB Grievance and Disciplinary Procedures to be sent to them, and that talks are progressed to try and resolve the ongoing issues to the satisfaction of all concerned through ACAS.
