Leyland Band’s principal cornet Iain Culross is looking forward to an exciting few weeks with the launch of his new CD and a forthcoming solo tour to Japan.

Debut release

His debut release entitled, ‘Vanguard’ is due out on 30th July and will feature Iain accompanied by Leyland under the batons of Russell Gray and Leigh Baker, before he will just have enough time to sign a few copies before his trip to the Far East, where he is too feature as a tutor and soloist at various summer schools including Sapporo, Hakodate, and Hamamatsu.

Hard work

Iain told 4BR: "Everyone has put in a great deal of hard work into the CD, and I think there is music there for everyone to enjoy, including new repertoire from James McFadyen, Jonathan Bates, Richard Rock, Darrol Barry, and Frank Culross as well as some more well known solos."

The response so far to the trip has been amazing, so I think I will have to pack a few extras copies into my suitcase!Iain Culross

Great response

He added: "Then all the preparations go into the trip to Japan where I am really looking forward to performing. The response so far to the trip has been amazing, so I think I will have to pack a few extras copies into my suitcase!"
