The Cornwall Youth Band is making its annual appeal for young musicians wishing to join them for their new season, which starts in September.

Enjoy

Secretary, Philip Hunt told 4BR: "With eight monthly rehearsals and two 4 day residential courses from September until April each year there is plenty of opportunity to make new friends and enjoy the benefit of working with the local tutors as well as the guest conductors."

The chance to work closely with the best known and talented musicians from the brass band world can only improve the all round musicianship of the young playersPhilip Hunt

The Christmas Course will be led by guest conductor Steve Sykes, with son Stephen, the former BBC Young Brass Musician of the Year as the guest soloist, whilst the following Easter, the band will welcome composer and conductor Paul Lovatt-Cooper to lead from the podium.

Philip added: "The chance to work closely with the best known and talented musicians from the brass band world can only improve the all round musicianship of the young players."
