The MAD 4 Brass Bands Day will take place this weekend with various events around the country.
Contribution
Designed to ‘Make a Difference’ in demonstrating the huge contribution brass bands make in local communities across the UK, the work of the BFBB has ensured that there will be high profile support for the events – including today’s MP launch at Portcullis House opposite the Palace of Westminster.
Great events
Some of the great events taking place include the Castletown Metropolitan Silver Band entertaining the crowds as they enjoy the bizarre spectacle of the World Tin Bath championships taking place in Castletown Harbour.
Across south Devon you will find the Torbay Brass Band performing for local communities as they go on tour on their bright red MAD4BB Double Decker London Bus, whilst a new Halifax Youth Brass Band will perform as part of the opening weekend events of The Halifax Festival.
Back from their trip to London, the Gloucestershire Youth Brass Band will join with 19 other bands on Saturday for the 75th anniversary celebrations of the Gloucester Brass Band Association at Highnam Court, Gloucester.
