The Rolls Royce (Derby) Band had a busy time last weekend after they played a major part in the filming and recording of a sound track for the Derby Soap Opera.
World's largest
This will be one of the world’s largest and most ambitious mass participation film projects, and has been written, filmed and performed by the people of Derby led by renowned film maker and artist Marinella Senatore.
The band was filmed in a dream sequence in Derby doing a slow march whilst various artists, including ballet dancers and dancers with hula hoops, went before them.
Special composition
The following day the band recorded a specially commissioned work by Italian performer and composer Ivan Dalia for brass and piano at The Guildhall in Derby. This was also filmed and will appear in the final production.
It was an unusual event and the band was happy to be part of such an ambitious project in the centre of DerbyBand Manager, Paul Askew
