Despite the thunderous weather the West Midlands Divisional Fellowship Band of the Salvation Army still delivered a fine account of themselves on their recent appearance at Wembrook Community Centre in Nuneaton.
Deep water
The band had to drive through axle deep water to gain access to the venue and many surrounding roads were impassable to perform for an audience of pensioners and friends under the baton of Bandmaster Charles King.
Grateful
David Birch told 4BR: "A varied programme included ‘Jubilee Day’, ‘Simple Gifts’ and ‘Celebration Hoe Down’, although the audience was grateful that Handel’s ‘Water Music’ or ‘Singing in the Rain’ were not on the programme!"
