The Test Valley Brass Youth Band recently held their annual summer concert which included the passing on of the Blue Baton as part of the ‘Brass the Baton’ relay.

Flame

The local school hall was packed to near capacity and saw a local Olympic Flame lit to provide a welcome accompaniment to the great music that was performed by both Test Valley Brass Youth Band and their beginners in the Frosty’s Band.

The evening was based around movie themes with music from ‘Mission Impossible’ to ‘Highlander’. Trainee conductor Alistair Goodwin received his Level One Conductors Award.

Enjoyed

Alec Grimsey of Test Valley Brass told 4BR: "The comments and reaction show how much everyone enjoyed the concert. This is not only credit to the outstanding musicians we have and the exceptional standard of the playing that took place at the concert, but also the incredible team of parents, helpers and tutors we have."
