The Wellington (Telford) Band has announced the appointment of the experienced Wayne Ruston as their new MD.

Delighted

The band is currently rehearsing hard in preparation for The Ironbridge Gorge Brass Band Festival next month and told 4BR that they are delighted that Wayne had agreed to take on the role.

Looking forward

A spokesperson said: "Wayne and the band will be working together to do well at next year’s Area contest and return to the First Section as soon as possible. The band is also looking forward to performing well at upcoming concerts under his direction."

Wayne has accepted the position as MD at Wellington alongside his current role as resident conductor at Sovereign Brass.
