The Rainford Band has announced the signing of a brace of new players as they start looking forward to their preparations for the National Finals in Cheltenham.

Tuba and cornet

Former Tredegar and Cory player Gethin Rees joins on solo Eb tuba after moving with his fiancée to the area, whilst Greenall’s MD and former Northop cornet player Karl Stott, joins the front row cornet bench.

MD Neil Samuel told 4BR: "Gethin is a truly remarkable player. The experience he has gained from playing with Cory and Tredegar is going to be invaluable as we continue to move forward, and it’s fantastic to be able to welcome Karl to our team. We already have a lot of experience on the front row, but Karl's arrival enhances this further."
