Fanatics of all things bass trombone will descend on mass in the Netherlands later this year for the 4th Dutch Brass Trombone Open.

Trombones

The wonderful, if ever so slightly bizarre world of the bass trombone is to be celebrated at the 4th Dutch Bass Trombone Open later this year.

Congregate

The bi-annual event in September is held in the Netherlands and sees players from all over the world congregate to talk, discuss and perform.

A spokesperson told 4BR: "The main purpose of this event is to motivate and bring bass trombone players in an non competitive environment from all the World during a three day course."

This year, some of the greats of the instrument will be on hand to pass on tips and expertise, such as Charlie Vernon, Mattis Cederberg, Csaba Wagner and Ben van Dijk, as well as festival favourites Bill Reichenbach, Phil Teele, Brandt Attema, Jos Jansen and Douglas Yeo.
