Following the recent departure of Rachel Allen to Blackburn & Darwen Band, Rainford has announced the arrival of former Leyland principal trombone player Russell Marsh.

Commenting on Russell's arrival, Rainford Band chairman Paul Rigby told 4BR: "It gives me enormous pleasure to welcome Russell to the band. Not only is he a great player with a huge wealth of experience, but he's also a great guy!."

This weekend he band play the National Anthem at the Great Britain rugby league international as well as entertaining the crowd.
