Comber Silver Band has announced the introduction of a scholarship scheme to help develop the talent of local brass players.

Opportunity

Under the scheme, two people will have the opportunity to have free lessons for a year, provided by the band’s conductor, Wesley Thompson. Those selected will have the opportunity to play with the band, to further develop their skills.

Although no playing qualifications are required to apply for a scholarship, it is expected that successful candidates will be already playing at around grade 6 standard.

Open night

An open night will be held in Comber Primary School, at 8:00 pm on Wednesday 13th June.

This will provide interested individuals, and family and friends, the opportunity to hear the band, meet the conductor and members, and to find out more about the scheme.
