Dobcross add Webb presence

Dobcross Silver Band has added the experience of Les Webb to their conducting team.

Dobcross Silver has announced that Les Webb is to become their new Associate Conductor.

Decision

With MD Kenny Pain’s increasing professional workload and playing commitment, the joint decision was made to approach the conductor and player who has an immense amount of knowledge and experience.

Delighted

Les told 4BR: "I’m delighted to accept the position and look forward to working with Kenny, in what will be an exciting project. With my experience as a music teacher and top level player, coupled with Kenny's musicianship, I’m sure Dobcross Silver will benefit greatly."

MD Kenny Pain added: "I'm excited that Les has agreed to join the band. He is a fine trombone player with a mass of experience and knowledge, and his conducting skills and band training will bring something new to the band.

With my work and playing commitments on the increase I feel safe that in my absence the band will be in very good hands."

Morale

A band spokesperson said: "Morale and team spirit is at an all time high in the band and to have someone such as Les join is excellent news. We are all looking forward to working with him and firmly believe both Kenny and Les will make an excellent team and will push the band to a higher level."
