The Scottish Brass Band Association has announced the launch of its 3rd Scottish Open Brass Band Golf Championships.

Open

The event which is in aid of the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland, takes place at Bonnyton Golf Club, Eaglesham in Glasgow on Friday 29th June. It is open to brass band players, instrumental service teachers and working musicians, offering a day of golf and a celebration gala dinner with speakers and prize-giving.

Golfers

The organisers are looking for up to 60 golfers to compete and welcome entries of 4-person teams, individuals and pairs or trios (from which the teams can then be formed).

Challenge

A spokesperson told 4BR: "This has always been an immensely enjoyable event and previous years have seen some memorable challenges by teams from both bands and traders.

This year promises to be another exciting day, welcoming players from 10.30am with coffee and rolls, the first tee-off at 12.00 noon and a three course evening meal commencing at 6.00pm."

Apart from the obvious benefits for the golfers, the event also raises important funds to assist the National Youth Brass Band of ScotlandSBBA spokesperson

Fund raising

They added: "Apart from the obvious benefits for the golfers, the event also raises important funds to assist the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland, so SBBA encourages anyone to get in touch and support this innovative event."
