Lydbrook set for Diamond Jubilee baton

The Lydbrook Band will be passing the baton with the help of a new work form the pen of composer Liz Lane.

Lydbrook Band

The Lydbrook Band will perform a new fanfare entitled, 'Diamond Jubilee' from the pen of Liz Lane for the arrival of the Yellow Baton at the Royal Forest Jubilee event this weekend.

National Anthem

Liz told 4BR: "Diamond Fanfare is written for a special occasion, and hidden within the festive music are two separate versions of part of the National Anthem. Rhythmic drive and momentum is sustained by the percussion throughout whilst celebratory motifs are passed around the brass section, racing to a sparkling flourish at the finish."

The Yellow Baton will be handed to Lydbrook Band by members of Ynyshir Band who will have performed ‘Going the Distance’ on Friday. Lydbrook will then pass the Yellow Baton to Nailsworth Band for their concert at the King George V playing fields on Monday 4th June."
