Trombone star Brett Baker recently enjoyed a trip to perform with the youngsters of Test Valley.
Masterclass
Brett gave a masterclass on the Saturday followed by a very enjoyable evening at the local pub before closing the weekend with a concert appearance with the band’s Frosty’s, Youth and Senior Bands.
The event formed part of Test Valleys involvement in ‘Brass the Baton,’ with the Yellow Baton being presented as part of the ongoing relay to the Fulham Band. The Test Valley Youth Band will also be taking part in the Blue relay at their concert on 23rd June.
Huge success
The concert was a huge success with Frosty’s performing with all three bands performing brilliantly and the trombone star showing off to great effect – much to the delight of the audience.
The evening closed with the bands joining forces for ‘Seventy Six Trombones’ and the finale of Paul Lovett-Cooper composition especially for the Brass the Baton relay ‘Going the Distance’.
