Pilling Jubilee Silver Band has announced the appointment of John Roberts as their new Musical Director.

Secretary Emily Hallett told 4BR: "John impressed the players with his knowledge and enthusiasm and they are very much looking forward to working with him in the future."

Emily added: "John's first public engagement will be the Kirkby Lonsdale Entertainment contest on the 17th June where the band will be defending their 3 trophies from last year."

Faith

John started his conducting career at Freckleton in the mid 70’s and has also held the position at Longridge, Blackpool, Poulton-le-Fylde, Skelmersdale, Goodshaw, Chorley and Nelson.

On his appointment John added: "I would like to thank the band for putting faith in me and I am looking forward to rebuilding Pilling Band."
