Grimethorpe Colliery Band is getting ready to perform live on this Thursday’s BBC Radio 2, ‘2 Day’ event.

Profile

The high profile radio day is being hosted by the BBC to try and get people to think a bit differently about the station's most popular producer of popular radio entertainment.

As has been shown on BBC adverts over the last week or so, things will sound a bit different to normal as all of the presenters take to the air across the day.

The band will perform live during Zoe Ball’s ‘Breakfast Show’ between 8.00am — 9.00am, alongside a number of major international recording artists4BR

Band spokesman Gareth Crane told 4BR: "This is not only great exposure for the band but for brass bands in general. We had a fantastic response to our recent television appearance as guests on the cbeebies show ‘Zingzillas’ and we hope that this will attract the same response."
