Lostock Hall Memorial Band has appointed not one, but two new Musical Directors.

Innovative

In an innovative approach, the band has appointed Iain McKnight and Graham Martin as Co-MDs. Both have led the band in a single capacity in the past and are looking forwards to the new relationship.

Iain told 4BR: "I was delighted to be asked to return to Lostock Hall, and I’m excited that I have accepted the position of co-Musical Director alongside Graham.

The band holds many special memories for me as it was my first full-time conducting position after leaving university, so it is a genuine pleasure to work once again with such an enthusiastic and hard-working group of musicians."

Fond memories

Graham was MD of the band in the late 1990's, and recalled: "I have some really fond memories of my previous four years leading the band and I'm greatly looking forward to this new joint challenge. The determination the band has to make the future even more enjoyable and successful is quite inspirational."
