One of Shropshire’s well known bands has changed its name.
Sabrina Brass Band, which was founded back in the 1970s, has decided to change its name to the Shrewsbury Brass to better reflect its local roots.
The band has appointed Steve Pritchard-Jones as its MD, and he told 4BR that the name change will help emphasise the bands connections with Shrewsbury, with a fundraising campaign being launched to help officials find the £2000 necessary for the rebranding exercise.

"I’m very proud to be associated with such an enthusiastic and hard working group of local musicians," Steve said. "I intend to develop the band into a first rate concert band. We are fortunate to be part sponsored by the Shropshire Agricultural Show Committee and the organisation also has an excellent training section too."
