Cowes Concert Band has been celebrating the results of its fundraising campaign for new instruments.

Four

The Isle of Wight band has just bought four instruments from Wessex Tubas which will make their playing debuts at their next concert in a few weeks time.

The Eb bass, euphonium, tenor horn and cornet were purchased using almost £4,000 raised from a year-long campaign which saw money come through in the form of grants and donations from local councils and businesses.

Last year was extremely successful in terms of the fundraising and also with audiences at our concerts. We are working hard to ensure we maintain that momentum through 2012MD, Andy Norman

Successful

Band MD Andy Norman told 4BR: "Last year was extremely successful in terms of the fundraising and also with audiences at our concerts. We are working hard to ensure we maintain that momentum through 2012."

On the playing front the band welcomes 18 year-old Faye Williams on cornet who will make her debut with the band at their next concert.
