The Monmouth Band from one of the most picturesque corners of South East Wales, has recently been re-launched under the direction of conductor, John Jemmett.

A former player with the band over two decades ago, John is currently principal horn of the Lydbrook Band and is a mature student at Birmingham Conservatoire studying for his BMus(Hons) degree, as well as working as a peripatetic brass tutor for Gloucestershire Music.

"I'm extremely excited about this opportunity to return to my local band where I started playing almost 20 years ago," John told 4BR.

New members

"We are currently recruiting new members, and would like to hear from any interested brass or percussion players to join us. We are a friendly and hard working non-contesting band."
