Monmouth Band makes return

The Monmouth Band has been re-launched thanks to the return of a former player.

The Monmouth Band from one of the most picturesque corners of South East Wales, has recently been re-launched under the direction of conductor, John Jemmett.

A former player with the band over two decades ago, John is currently principal horn of the Lydbrook Band and is a mature student at Birmingham Conservatoire studying for his BMus(Hons) degree, as well as working as a peripatetic brass tutor for Gloucestershire Music.

"We are currently recruiting new members, and would like to hear from any interested brass or percussion players to join us. We are a friendly and hard working non-contesting band."
