Darwen on the crest of a wave

Darwen Brass is on the crest of a contesting wave thanks to a winning Ocean bounce...

Darwen

Following their recent qualification for the National Finals in Cheltenham, Darwen Brass added another title to their name by winning the Fourth Section at the Tameside Contest.

Oceans

Under the direction of MD, Steve Hartley they delivered a confident musical performance of 'Oceans' by Goff Richards to impress adjudicator Andrew Warriner.

The result rounds off an excellent start to 2012 for the band that was only formed in 2007.

Delighted at form

Steve Hartley told 4BR: "We are all delighted our recent form. The band delivered a performance to be proud of at Tameside. Our results since our formation are very impressive, and are due to a tremendous amount of hard work by a dedicated group of players."

He added: "We will be promoted to the Third Section next year and will relish the challenge. We are now busy preparing for a busy summer season of concerts before we begin work for the National Finals."
